Support students to see STEM as something ‘for them’ with I’m an Engineer

I’m a Teacher ❯

This student-led activity connects students with a diverse range of engineers from different specialisms and backgrounds.

It’s a moderated, flexible activity, that is safe, secure and easy to use.

The platform is all online and text-only, with no need for audio or video. It’s suitable for ages from 10 to 18.

Students can:

• Read profiles of engineers working in different careers
• Chat with engineers in energetic, 30-minute, text-based online Chats, giving them what feels like a 1-to-1 personal experience
• Ask in-depth follow-up questions
• Vote for their favourite engineer

Inspire the next generation in STEM through rewarding and enjoyable public engagement.

• Connect with students in 30-minute, text-based, online Chats
• Answer the questions that matter to them about you, your work, anything and everything – from dogs to outer space!

The activity is flexible and works around your schedule – let us know your availability and we’ll arrange the rest. It’s all online. Take part from the office, on site, at home – anywhere with an internet connection.

Who can apply? All professionals working in fields related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) are welcome to apply.

• You could be working in industry, academia, or the public sector
• You could be a technician, an apprentice, or in roles like comms or management
