Connect your students with working engineers and other STEM professionals with I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here!
Support your students taking part in the Engineering Educates: Robotics Challenge by engaging them in conversations with people working across a wide range of sectors.
Taking part in an ‘Engineering Educates’ themed Chat gives students the opportunity to ask the questions that interest them, to engineers working to find solutions to real-world problems.
Students see their classroom learning reflected in real life challenges, helping them relate to their studies. They discover how skills they’re developing now, can prepare them for further study and careers in fast-moving engineering industries.
Pitched at 7 to 14 year olds, it is aligned to curriculum learning across Design & Technology, Science, Computing, and Literacy.
I’m an Engineer is a student-led, online activity. It’s quick and easy to set up, and text-only, with no audio or video required. It’s safe, too – all Chats are facilitated by DBS-checked moderators.
Book Chats at times that suit you and your classes, as many times as you like. Thanks to our funders, there is no cost for state-maintained schools.
Students get to:
Learn about up to 30 theme-relevant engineers through their profiles, including their CVs
Connect with real people working in engineering in 30-minute, text-based, online Chats
Deepen their understanding and continue engaging with the engineers by sending follow-up questions
Use critical thinking skills to decide which engineer deserves the £500 winner’s prize
Review their learning through a facilitated discussion
