Rugby and music lover living in the Highlands of Scotland
Hi, I’m Rhodri. I live in Inverness with my wife and my baby daughter. Most of my time these days is spent chasing my wee girl around the house as she learns to crawl and walk!
I love rugby and support the Ospreys and Wales, as my family is Welsh. I also enjoy playing the guitar and I’m trying to learn the piano, although I’m making slow progress!
I make sure the water you drink is clean and safe.
I am a Civil Engineer working in the Water sector.
I do a wide range of work, but most of it is focused on one of the following three areas:
- Water treatment – Designing Water Treatment Works to capture water from rivers and lakes and treat it so it is safe for drinking.
- Sewage treatment – Designing Sewage Treatment Works to receive the sewage from your toilets and treat it so it does not harm the environment.
- Water/sewage networks – Designing pipelines so that water and sewage can be moved around safely underground.
My Typical Day: I start work at 8:30am and say hello to my work friends. I then start doing drawings on my computer so that builders have good instructions for building Water Treatment Works. I have lunch and a walk halfway through the day, then I go back to work and sometimes have meetings and write reports. Sometimes I get to go outside and visit building sites too, which I really like.
