I come from a beatiful place in Italy called Lecco, on lake Como, I’ve lived in Ireland for 4 year before coming to the UK (but I couldn’t handle the weather there!).
Before moving outside Liverpool, I’ve lived in the Midlands and Suffolk, experiencing different part of the UK.

My Work:
I work as a Food Regulatory Manager for Princes foods (mainly known for their canned tuna), and this means I make sure that the information on their labels is correct, regarding allergens, ingredients, nutritional and any other message shared via advertisements or on our website, making sure it follows what food law require.

What I enjoy about my work is the constant learning, as the regulation behind food keep chaning, ensuring that what we eat is safe. Also, dealing with laws allow ti expand my background, not only focusing on science, but on different type of technical world.

My Typical Day:
I don’t need any alarm as my kids take care of it, waking me up at 6.30am, and this gives plenty of time to get breakfast (maybe go to the gym as well depending on my energy) and then off to school/work.
I work from home, and this is great to manage my routine around work. I would go in the office twince a week, where i manage to meet different colleagues, and also try some of our products (beside tuna, we do pasta, corned beef, juices, fruit in syrup and oils).

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would arrange some engaging activity to learn more about food science at Eureka village, in Wirral.

Education:
In 2014 I obtained a Master of Science in Crops Production and Protection at University of Milan, after my Bachelor of pharmacy in Herbal sciences and Technologies, in 2013. Started working in food industry with a University internship, and here I am.

Work History:
Started working for Kerry group in Italy, then move with them in Ireland. They are a big irish manufacturers of food flavours and Ingredients.
I then move to Cork working for Pepsico on chemical safety for the concentrates used to make 7Up and Gatorade. This was 1 year contract, then I moved to UK working for Symrise, one of the biggest food flavour manufacturers, as Regulatory Manager.
Then work for a tiny food colouring manufacturer and then Unilever, where I had a break from food science and learn about cosmetics.
Finally, went back into food with Princes.
