I started my career as an Apprentice, now I help design jet engines for planes like the super efficient Airbus A350XWB, ensuring it can safely fly for up to 2,000,000 miles without a service.

I help to make new medicines, so I create and improve manufacturing processes and take them from a reaction done in a chemistry lab to a something in a factory so that new drugs are available for doctors to give to patients.

I am a medical engineer -I design new body parts and new ways to fix the human body when it’s broken or not working properly.
Naomi Green | University of Birmingham
I research the design of implants; to try and improve the lives of people with painful conditions like back pain and arthritis.
Rachel Pallan | The University of Leeds
I test parts of the hip to destrction, to find how strong the part is and I place whole hips in a machine, which creates a walking pattern, to look at hthe damage different hip shapes create.

I complete and analyse fluid flow simulations to gain a better understanding of how our product works, with the intention of creating a more efficient and environmentally friendly diesel combustion cycle.

I am using new composite materials to design the aircraft of the future, which will be more efficient and ‘greener’ than today.
