I started my career as an Apprentice, now I help design jet engines for planes like the super efficient Airbus A350XWB, ensuring it can safely fly for up to 2,000,000 miles without a service.

I am Engineering Apprentice working for Aibus, the aeroplace company.

Engineering instructor and mentor within the Rail Industry dealing with most systems from signals to major interlockings.

I help to make new medicines, so I create and improve manufacturing processes and take them from a reaction done in a chemistry lab to a something in a factory so that new drugs are available for doctors to give to patients.

I am a medical engineer -I design new body parts and new ways to fix the human body when it’s broken or not working properly.

Naomi Green | University of Birmingham

I research the design of implants; to try and improve the lives of people with painful conditions like back pain and arthritis.

Rachel Pallan | The University of Leeds

I test parts of the hip to destrction, to find how strong the part is and I place whole hips in a machine, which creates a walking pattern, to look at hthe damage different hip shapes create.

My job is to make the internet safer, and more secure, so you can have fun while watching videos of cats… and the best thing is, you have seen (but maybe not noticed) some of my work millions of times every single day!

I design pipes to safely move oil or gas that is around 50 degrees C hotter than a boiling kettle and 600x the pressure in a car’s tyres, from deep under the seabed to the pumps at a petrol station or the oven at home!

I’m an Aerospace Engineer working with wing parts using maths and physics to make sure they are safe to fly.

You all know that James Bond jumps out of helicopters, gets all the secret missions sorted and fights all those trying to get world domination. Well I am not like him at all. Do you remember the guy who sorts out everything in the background?

What would you do if there were no roads? My job is to ensure roads, including bridges and tunnels, are in top condition so we can keep driving.

I create software to control and automate equipment on board naval ships

I complete and analyse fluid flow simulations to gain a better understanding of how our product works, with the intention of creating a more efficient and environmentally friendly diesel combustion cycle.

I am using new composite materials to design the aircraft of the future, which will be more efficient and ‘greener’ than today.
