The next I’m an EngineerĀ event will run from the 13th to the 24th JuneĀ 2016, and applications are open now!
EngineersĀ apply by Sunday 1st May at: imanengineer.org.uk/engineer-apply
Teachers registerĀ by Sunday 1st May at: imanengineer.org.uk/teachersĀ ā After registering, teachers will receive an email asking which zone they would like to take part in. Respond to this email to complete registration for the June activity.
Teachers who are already signed up for our activities will receive an email in early April about registering for the June activity.
The themes in June…
The event is split into different zones, each with its own theme. In each zone 5 engineersĀ compete for students’ votes by answering questions and taking part in live chats. One engineerĀ in each zone will win Ā£500 to spend on more STEM engagement. Here’s what the zone list looks like:
- Aerospace Zone ā funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering
- Environment Zone ā funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering
- HealthĀ Zone āĀ funded by Wellcome Trust
- Water Zone āĀ funded by Wellcome Trust
We will also be running aĀ General EngineeringĀ Zone. A zoneĀ where 5 engineersĀ from completely different fields and areas of engineeringĀ all answer students’ questions on any topic the students like. General zones are named after SI units:
- Kilogram ZoneĀ ā funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering
