I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here will run for two weeks from Monday 5th – Friday 16th November 2018, connecting school students with engineers across the UK.
We are running two zones which you can read about below, or head straight to the application form:
- Teachers apply by 24th September: imanengineer.org.uk/teachers
- Engineers apply now at: imanengineer.org.uk/engineer-apply
Space Zone
Look up at night and you will see a whole lot of space out there. With less than 70 years of sending things into space under our belts, the future up above is almost limitless. And space has huge impacts on how we live our lives down here.
In this zone, engineers might be designing spacecraft that map and explore distant planets and stars, helping us understand more about the universe. Or they could be using data from orbiting telescopes to monitor the logging of rainforests. They could even be making sure the satellite that carries your phone signal survives its shaky trip into orbit.
The Space Zone is supported by the UK Space Agency
Millisecond Zone — a general engineering zone
The general engineering zone will include engineers from a range of different research areas, the more diverse the better. We welcome any type of engineer, including apprentices, to apply for this zone.
The Millisecond Zone is supported by Wellcome.
