Engage your students with engineering

The DETI initiative supports I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here.

“The Digital Engineering Technology & Innovation (DETI) initiative in the West of England plays an important role in driving innovation and digitally enabled recovery following the Coronavirus outbreak. DETI will work with leading companies and support industry to reduce carbon emissions by producing better products that are lighter, more fuel efficient and have less waste through undertaking research and innovation in the virtual world.”

Get your sixth form students thinking about COP-26 and help them be a force for change through the Youth Engagement with Engineering and Sustainability Summit (YEESS).

From 11 to 13 October 2021, YEESS will guide students through a thought-provoking programme of events covering different topics.

Priority will be given to schools in the West of England Combined Authority area of Bath, North East Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire.

YEESS is funded by the Digital Engineering Technology & Innovation (DETI) programme at the University of the West of England.

I’m an Engineer is a safe and secure online platform.

Students get to:

  • Contribute to the discussion around sustainability ahead of COP-26
  • Learn about engineering’s impact on sustainability
  • Discover career paths that they never knew existed

To access YEESS, students will need wi-fi access and a computer or tablet to take part. It’s all text-based, so no audio or video is required.

Thanks to DETI and our other funders, this activity is free for UK state-maintained schools.
